Sabji Daal: Healthy and Filling

All variety of Daal are rich in protein and therefore are extremely good for health. There are numerous ways in which a Daal can be cooked, and sabji daal is one of them. This way you get to eat sabji and also daal, and thus dual benefit!!

So let's make sabji daal today.

What all are required?

  • Here I have used Musur daal, you can even take any other daal (preferably musur or tur daal)
  • Veggies (I have taken here Tomatoes, Capsicum, potato, Onion-you can also take cabbage or cauliflower or carrot or peas etc)
  • Onion, Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • Cumin Seeds and Cumin Seeds Powder
  • Garam Masala, Chilies/Chili Powder

Steps to Follow:

Boil the daal and keep aside. I have used ghee for the entire recipe, you can also replace ghee with oil. Add ghee/oil to the kadai, add the ginger garlic paste, cumin seeds, cumin powder. Stir well. Add the onions, let it become a little brown. Now add all the veggies, add tomato at the end (any sour things should be added at the end else the other veggies doesn't get cooked well). After the veggies are almost boiled, add the garam masala and thereafter add the boiled daal. Stir and mix the daal with the veggies and then add water (you can skip adding water if you want it to be had with roti and you don't want it to be runny). Add some ghee from the top. Close the lid and cook for 3-4 minutes in low flame. And you are done!!

Garnish with coriander leaves and lemon from the top!

Enjoy!

Khadi herbal Hair conditioner review

So here I am today to review two varieties of KHADI Herbal Hair Conditioner, one is Khadi Shikakai and Honey Hair conditioner and the other is Khadi Green Tea and Aloevera Hair conditioner. The first thing I want to share is I am absolutely in love with these hair conditioners. I am the one who has dry and rough hair, and for me, I felt these conditioners are just perfect! So why I'm in love with these? I have tried like so many conditioners on my hair, some of it turned out to leave my hair too sticky, some didn't do its job at all and left my hair brittle and rough, and to be very honest, I was tired to figure out which one will suit me the best. Then suddenly I came across these Khadi conditioners. The first time I used them only I felt the difference, it nourished my hair, made it soft and smooth, like the way a conditioner should exactly be. Moreover, it is not at all costly. I believe for all the variety of conditioner that Khadi has, its priced at or...

Bengali Association Durga puja in Aurangabad, Maharashtra

Durga Puja is one of the biggest festival celebrated by the Bengalies. I am a Bengali by birth and I have recently shifted to Aurangabad, Maharashtra (you can check out the places that I have explored here in Aurangabad in my previous blog:  https://pcfoodfacelife.blogspot.com/2018/08/blog-post.html ). So this 2018 Durga puja I had spent in Aurangabad, and that's when I discovered that there is a Bengali Association in Aurangabad (there might be more, but I am talking about the one I am aware of right now). As I came to know, this Bengali Association celebrates all the Bengali festivals in the authentic Bengali way, and so was the Durga Puja. The Durga Puja of this particular Bengali association is hosted in the "Sagar Lawns and Function Hall" which is near the Prozone Mall in the Chilkalthana Area ( https://www.google.co.in/maps/contrib/104235049707915129776/place/ChIJE7FM7_Gi2zsRYC0D6NRB0Ag/@19.5396149,74.1340508,9z/data=!4m6!1m5!8m4!1e1!2s104235049707915129776!...

Bread Pakoda-A delicious snacks recipe :)

Hello all..!! So today I have come up with a very delicious and easy snacks option and will be sharing the recipe with you all. Bread pakoda is one of the most favourite and commonly available snacks out there and you can now soo easily make it at home too!! What all you need for it? Bread (Of course, LOL), Besan/Gram Flour, Ajwain, Coriander leaves, Black Jeera, Turmeric and salt. Now let us make it! Firstly cut the sides of the bread pieces and then cut the bread into diagonal halves (shape is according to your preference! you need not also throw the sides of the bread as you can make pakoda out of them too!!) Now take a bowl, put the Besan, Ajwain, Chopped Coriander leaves, Black Jeera, Turmeric and salt (according to your taste) and mix well. Add water to make a liquidy batter. Now take a kadai, put oil generously, because we are gonna deep fry it. Dip the pieces of bread in the batter so made and deep fry both sides well. (do the same with the sides of bread to...
