Hello Everyone!
This is another recipe from my Bengali Cuisine. So the authentic name of the dish is "Piyaj koli Posto" and for the sake of convenience of my non-bong friends, it's Spring Onion with Poppy Seeds Paste.
No no, you might find the name little unusual and therefore might have thought that it is a difficult recipe, but it's absolutely not so!
It is just a two-ingredient recipe! Yes, you read it right, only 'TWO' ingredient recipe.
So what do you actually need?
1.Spring onions/Piyaj Koli (I here have used one bundle of spring onion which is approximately 250gm)
2.Posto/Poppy seeds Paste (I have taken here five full tablespoons of posto/poppy seeds and have made a paste out of it)
How to Make it?
Take 2 tablespoons of mustard oil in the kadai and heat it up (the authentic taste comes with the use of mustard oil, but you if are intolerant to mustard oil, you can use any oil of your choice). Put some salt, turmeric and chili powder (according to your taste) and then put the nicely chopped spring onion and close the lid of the kadai. Cook for good 10 minutes in low flame (stir once or twice in between). After the piyaj koli/spring onion is cooked well, put the poppy seeds/posto paste and give a good stir. Add half a cup water and let it cook for another 10 minutes.
Yes, THATS ALL!! It is ready to be served.
So simple na?
:)
Cook it and do let me know how did you like the recipe :)
Take Care!
