Malpua is a very common and popular sweet dish in Bengal. It is available in almost every other sweet shop in West Bengal and is also quite tasty to munch on.
I am here sharing the recipe to prepare the same at home, with very few ingredients and in a very plain and simple way.
Ingredients:
i. Suji/Rawa,
ii.Maida,
iii. Saunf/Fennel seed,
iv. Milk and
v. Sugar
How to make it?
In a bowl take an equal amount of suji/rawa (the fine one) and maida and mix well. Put some saunf/fennel seeds to the mix (for the flavor) and add milk to the whole mix so as to form a semi-liquid paste kind of consistency. Keep the paste so made, aside for minimum 15-20 minutes.
When the paste is so done, make the sugar syrup for the malpua.
For the syrup, take sugar (as per your taste) and water and boil it. Boil the sugar and water until it turns light brownish in colour (remember, the syrup should not be a very sticky one, and it should be kind of little thick and running liquid).
After 15-20 minutes deep fry the malpua batter (suji-maida-milk mix) in round shape and when it turns brown, take it out of the oil and dip in the sugar syrup which is already prepared.
That's all, hot and crispy malpua is ready to be served!
Enjoy eating :)
